N-Dodecyl-2-Pyrrolidone acts as wetting agent,is sparingly soluble in water and soluble in most organic solvents.It is a low-foaming,nonionic surfactant with an HLB of 3 and has no critical micelle concentration.N-Dodecyl-2-Pyrrolidone exhibits greater efficiency in static Surface tension reduction,it interacts with anionic surfactants,forming mixed micelles,which greatly enhances its solubility,resulting in a synergistic surface tension reduction and wetting enhancement.The key properties of N-Dodecyl-2-Pyrrolidone are:*High Boiling solvent for polymers and hydrophobic substances,*Ingredient in pressure sensitive adhesives,*Soluble in organic solvent,sparingly soluble in water,*Synergistic surface tension reduction with anionic surfactants,*Enhance wetting,provides high surface activity at very low conditions,*Biodegradable.

N-Dedecyl-2-Pyrrolidone is used as thickeners and foam stabilizers in shampoos,without need for salt or alkanolamides,it can also be used in hair conditioning agent with mild substantivity,providing body,shine and manageability.It provides synergistic thickening effect when formulated with anionic surfactants in shampoo systems. Helps improve  formulation clarity,Helps stabilize foam in shampoos,Improves uniform absorption of hair dyes by the hair fibre,ensuring evenness of final hair color.N-Dodecyl-2-Pyrrolidone is an effective coupling solvent for fragrances.It provides odor reduction in  thioglycolate  cold  waves. It works well in wipe applications for all-purpose,kitchen,bathroom,glass,floor,and disinfectant.
