Allantoin is Extracted from the root of the comfrey plant, Allantoin is a non-irritating ingredient that soothes and protects the skin. Allantoin is a heterocyclic compound derived from purine. It is an odourless white powder, soluble in water to 0.5%, very slightly soluble in alcohols, insoluble in oils and apolar solvents.
